Using modern technology, our fishermen are able to "flash-freeze" their catch locking in freshness. Many retail stores thaw their flash-frozen seafood for display, often selling it as “fresh.” However, each time seafood is exposed to heat (such as in the thawing process) it hastens deterioration. We work diligently to pass the seafood as close to “harvest fresh” as possible. For this reason, a good seafood market will not thaw flash-frozen products before selling them to you. Your seafood will taste better and last longer at home when bought frozen and placed directly into your freezer until time to cook.
It’s important, for both safety and taste, to place your seafood in either the freezer or refrigerator as soon as you have received it. Always remember, to wash all working surfaces (including cutting boards), utensils and hands after touching raw seafood. Cook thoroughly and refrigerate leftovers immediately after your meal. For more information about storage and preparation for your specific products, visit the product’s page.
We highly recommend defrosting your seafood in the refrigerator. It will easily thaw out within 12-20 hours depending on the portion size. Once thawed, drain any excess liquid, pat it dry with a paper towel, and you’re ready to cook!
Because of the seasonal nature of wild-caught fresh seafood, all products are subject to seasons, weather conditions, and market availability.
Thawing is best done overnight in the refrigerator. If you are short on time you can thaw it out in the sink under COLD running water.

One of the best ways to cook any seafood is by broiling. High temperatures are best when it comes to seafood particularly rock shrimp.

We use a good chunk of dry ice to make sure it stays frozen.
We place enough dry ice in the package to last 2 days but even after the dry ice dissipates the package will remain at frozen temperature for hours long after. Check if your product is cold to the touch and is frozen, it usually is. If your product is not cool to the touch, do not hesitate to contact us.
Please immediately contact us. We can either refund your money or we can send you another package. We also need to understand why your package did not arrive on time; most of the time its due to weather.

The short answer is yes. If you know you will not be at home, our suggestion is to send it to your work location or have a neighbor hold it for you. Since our product is perishable, the longer it stays outside (particularly in the sun) the more likely the product will thaw out.
